Stretch Marks Beware! Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Product Reviews

Of the many scars/badges of pregnancy and childbirth, one of the most common is stretch marks. I’ve read that stretch marks can’t be prevented and are more a factor of heredity than skin creams, but that didn’t mean I was going to sit back and see if my genes were working in my favor. From the day I discovered I was pregnant, and well before I started showing a bump, I was lathering cocoa butter all over. I wasn’t sure what brand to get, so I started off with the very basic, Palmer’s Cocoa Butter products.

There are plenty of fancy competitors but I figured I’d go with a tried and true basic brand.  Besides, the husband and I were saving up for a house and a child and I didn’t want to break the bank on belly cream.  Thankfully, Palmer’s (and my genetics) seemed to work for me.

I used the Tummy Butter on my belly religiously morning and night and the Stretch Mark Massage Lotion on my breasts (which were growing at lightening speed).  I’m happy to say that I had my tiny dancer and didn’t have one mark on my belly or my breasts.  Was it the Palmer’s? I can’t say for sure but if I had to do it again I would definitely use it.

After I had the baby my stomach skin was very loose and I used the Firming Butter on my belly and I did start to notice it getting tighter.  It by no means returned my belly to pre-pregnancy status (I’m still working on that) but I think it did help.  I also noticed that I had some stretch marks on the side of my butt.  I was so concerned with lathering my belly and boobs during my pregnancy, I neglected my growing booty.  I immediately started on a morning/night routine of Tummy Butter and I’m happy to say the marks have almost disappeared and I have the Tummy Butter to thank for that.

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter has many more products but those are the only three that I have used.  I was happy with all three and highly recommend them.  The best part?  They can all be purchased at your local drugstore for under $10 each.  When you’re pregnant you have enough to worry about, don’t let stretch marks be one of them.

I am a new user to Tummy Butter. I am 23 weeks pregnant, 5’3 and before pregnancy, only weighed 105 lbs. I have only been using it for a few days now. I have always been a very tiny person and am hopIng that this will work for me. I am also wondering, did I wait too long to start using the tummy butter? Will it still work to reducing my stretch marks even the ones I already have? I am lucky enough to have not gotten an on my stomach so far, although I have a few dark ones on my butt and my breasts.

Have any of you waited this long before starting your use, and gotten lucky, or maybe not so lucky??

      Hi Missy!
I have no way of knowing unfortunately. Stretch marks come due to a number of factors, including genetics, so I can’t say. I would just use it and generally keep your skin moisturized. Best of luck and congratulations! :) Gabriella
