Memorial Day weekend is just days away and it’s the unofficial start of summer. Usually (fingers crossed) the weather starts warming up and the lifeguards come out of hibernation. Here are my top 5 ways to spend Memorial Day with the family in no particular order…
2. Family Picnic – Grabbing a blanket and going to the park (or even your backyard) is a nice way to enjoy a cozy meal outside with the family. If you go to a park or beach with tables and grills you can even combine your beach/picnic/barbecue action!
3. A Day At The Beach – Nothing says summer more to me than sand and surf. I wait all year for the summer so I can go to the beach, feel the sand in my toes, hear the relaxing sound of the waves and get my tan on. With lifeguards on duty now, you know the family will be safe but always keep an eye on the kiddos near water!
4. A Day At The Pool – Maybe your not near the coast or you just don’t like cleaning up sand everywhere – the pool may be more your style. Grab the swimsuits and floaties and enjoy the day getting refreshed in the tranquil waters of the pool. With lifeguards on duty now, you know the family will be safe but always keep an eye on the kiddos near water!
5. Family Camping Trip – You will not catch me doing this – ever. I like running water, toilets and electricity. But, I know lots of people enjoy camping so I thought I’d include it. Maybe if an overnight stay in the wilderness is not your cup of tea, you can enjoy a hike or go on a walking trail. Any excuse to have s’mores and roast marshmallows is a good one.
I hope you take some time off this weekend and enjoy some quality time with the family for some fun in the sun!
I’ll be back on Tuesday!
