Target is teaming up with singer/designer/model/mama Gwen Stefani to create Harajuki Mini, a line for babies, toddlers and tweens. Using the fun, Japan-inspired sensibility of her young contemporary Harajuku Lovers line as inspiration, Stefani will a younger audience a taste of kawaii.
Gwen Stefani stated:
Harajuku Mini is a dream come true…I’ve always wanted to do a cool children’s fashion line inspired by the supercute and playful kid’s clothing you find in Japan. The whole idea is about being creative, expressing your own individuality and having fun getting dressed. Target has given me the creative freedom to design kid’s clothing that is different than most anything you usually see out there with great quality, attention to detail and most of all, available at amazing prices.
Harajuki Mini will be available in Target stores and on Target.com in November and prices will range from $3.99 to $29.99. I wonder if Gwen Stefani will be using this as a spring board for launching a children’s line? It makes sense and she did that with LeSportsac. After a successful collaboration with LeSportsac for a few seasons she launched her own line of accessories. It’s a great way to test a market. Either way, I can’t wait for this collection to drop! I’ll definitely be getting some things for the Tiny Dancer.
