There have been a lot of fashion books for adults coming out lately that are inspired by children’s stories. First there was Christian Lacroix and the Tale of Sleeping Beauty and then Manolo Blahnik and the Tale of the Elves & the Shoemaker. Yesterday I received the latest in fashion fairy tales – Birds of a Feather Shop Together – Aesop’s Fables for the Fashionable Set.
Written by Sandra Bark and illustrated by Bill Donovan, fashion illustrator and brand ambassador for Christian Dior beauty, Birds of a Feather Shop Together features style and beauty-oriented re-tellings of Aesop’s Fables coupled with lovely watercolor and ink drawings.
In case you’re wondering how this book will work out for the tiny dancers, Birds of a Feather Shop Together also includes the original Aesop’s Fables referenced in the book. So, while you read the fashionable versions of the tales, you can also read the classics to your kids – everybody wins!
Birds of a Feather Shop Together is out on January 17th and you can purchase it on Amazon.com.
