aden + anais was born out of necessity when Raegan Moya-Jones, an Australian woman who moved to the U.S., started a family and could not find muslin swaddling blankets that are the traditional blankets for babies in Australia. The muslin is a simple, breathable fabric that keeps babies cool and comfortable in the heat and warm and snug when there’s a chill in the air. Not being able to find these blankets in the U.S. Raegan Moya-Jones set out to make her own.
I really wish I had known about these blankets when the Tiny Dancer was born. I was swaddling her when she was a newborn because all those “swaddling” blankets they sell at the stores are not large enough to actually swaddle! aden + anais blankets are large enough to swaddle and they will also grow with your child. You can use the muslin blankets for a stroller cover, nursing shield, tummy time blanket, or a burping cloth.
The line has grown to include a bamboo collection and organic collection of swaddling wraps, sleeping bags, a bath collection, burping cloths and bibs. aden + anais even makes a shrunken down version of their blanket called a security blanket so that your child won’t have to drag around the full size one! I also love the prints on the collection – they are cute enough for baby and modern enough for mom. The line is continuing to expand and now includes a line of bath products called mum + bub that is non-greasy and is gentle enough for baby and lovely enough for mama.
