My daughter has hijacked my old iPhone 3G and my husband’s old iTouch – they are now officially “hers.” And when desperate times call for desperate measures, she’s been known to hijack either my or my husband’s iPads. She is two years old. Somehow, she knows how to work these devices. I wish I could take responsibility for teaching her how to use technology but she is self-taught.
Now, I’m not complaining. The devices have calmed many a melt down when in public so I’m thankful for that. What I don’t like is when she decides she’s done and let’s me know by throwing the device. Somehow she can learn how to use the technology but I can’t get to teach her not to throw the technology. Go figure.
I know I’m not alone in the technology hijacking by small children so I thought I’d share some kid-friendly device life savers. I personally have cases on all of my devices but nothing as cool as the ones featured here. I now have to re-think my cases. They’re all different and cater to different age groups so sort through and see what works for you.
I also found some other accessories that may come in handy. Is your little one always pressing the home button and getting into apps and programs? The Bubcap home button cover is a sticker you place over your home button which requires more force to push down the button. Theoretically, adults can still press the button while little ones can’t.
If you take family road trips then the CinemaSeat seat-back iPad cover is an awesome accessory to have. Your kids can watch a movie without you getting expensive screens put into your headrests. Anything to get the kids to stop asking “are we there yet??”
