Yesterday we went to the local farm to visit the pumpkin patch and bring home pumpkins, gourds and corn to decorate our home for the autumn season. The Tiny Dancer had a great time and from the moment we got there to the moment we left she was running around the whole time. She ran amongst the pumpkins and tried to lift them, she climbed a giant haystack pyramid and found her way through a haystack maze – three times! We complete our day with a tractor ride around the farm.
If you have a farm or pumpkin patch near your home you should definitely try and take a trip (with little ones or not!). It’s a great way to celebrate the season and much more fun to find a pumpkin in a field rather than at the grocery store. This was our second year going to the pumpkin patch and it’s a new annual family tradition. I may be sad summer is gone – I just need to find lots of other fun seasonal things to do until next summer.
