My Favorite Easter Dresses

It’s the time of year to pick out Easter bonnets and baskets and of course the perfect Easter dress to go with it.  The hardest part will be deciding on just one dress.  The usual florals and pastels are in style for spring, as well as stripes and polka dots.  The little ones will look adorable taking pictures with the Easter Bunny and searching for Easter Eggs.  Be sure to take lots of pictures!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

kids valentines day cards

This is the first Valentine’s Day that the Tiny Dancer is old enough to appreciate the festivities.  Since her Montessori class was celebrating the holiday, they were encouraged to bring in Valentines for their classmates.  We went to the store and she chose Minnie Mouse and Hello Kitty Valentines.

Earlier this week we sat down to fill out her Valentine’s Day cards.  I wrote the names in and she added her personal touch.  The process was so much fun. It really brought me back to when I was a kid filling out Valentines for my classmates and I loved seeing how excited she was to be a part of the process. I’m excited to keep this new tradition going!

Happy Holidays from Lil’ Miss!

Happy Holidays from Lil’ Miss!

christmas santa claus 2012

Baby, it’s cold outside, the families in town and the tree is up.  I’m ready for Santa to come to town, take a break to spend time with family and friends, reflect on 2012 and dream for 2013.  This year has been a lot of fun with the Tiny Dancer because it’s the first time she’s understanding the festivities.  We’ve been counting down the days to Christmas with her advent calendar and I’m not sure what I’m going to bribe her with come January.  And do threats of Santa Claus watching work in January?  I’m thinking no.  But I’m going to milk this until the 25th that’s for sure!

I wish you Happy Holidays and a wonderful New Year! We’ll see you in 2013!

Photo Gifts & Cards for the Holidays Pinhole Press

pinhole press

When Pinhole Press reached out to me to see if I was interested in receiving a gift code to try out their new products I did not hesitate in saying “yes, please!”  Every holiday season I purchased cards that feature the Tiny Dancer so I knew I would order some cards but when I saw all the other fun products they had, I gave made some fun gifts – for others and for myself.

There are a number of photo printing websites that allow you to order cards, calendars and the like but Pinhole Press is one of the newer companies on the market.  What separates them from the rest are two main things:  (1) the clean graphic design that allows for the photos to shine and (2) the product offerings are more fun and creative.

Yes, you can order cards and calendars.  But you could also order wine labels, note pads, magnets, memory games and flash cards to name a few.  Since my refrigerator is covered with the Tiny Dancer’s latest art projects I needed more magnets to display her art – what better way to do that than with her adorable face?  I made many for myself but a few for stocking stuffers.  I also ordered two memory games as stocking stuffers.  What a fun way to learn a memory game with photos of great times we shared?

Uploading and ordering on Pinhole Press was very easy and I had my completed order in a matter of days.  I love every item I received and I can’t wait to share these goodies with my friends and family.  To get your items in time for Christmas be sure to order by December 15th and all orders over $50 receive free shipping.  You can place your order and browse products on PinholePress.com.

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree

christmas tree

This past weekend we finally had some clear weather to go out and select our Christmas tree.  Usually we walk around looking at all the trees and finally settling on one.  This year, we walked in to the Christmas tree lot and I immediately saw our tree and knew we had found our tree.  I had my husband stay with the tree while I did a quick walk-around to make sure and it was a no brainer.  We found our tree.  It was the perfect height for our home – not too tall as to be overwhelming – and the perfect shape.

The Tiny Dancer had so much fun going to select the Christmas tree. We’ve been hyping it up for the past few weeks and when we got there she ran around the lot looking at all the trees.  This Christmas season has been really fun because it’s the first year that she’s understanding the concepts and getting excited about things.  We’ll be decorating the tree next weekend and I can’t wait to see her excitement then.  Though it will take an army to keep her from tearing up the tree once it’s decorated!  I wouldn’t have it any other way :)

Holiday Dresses for Toddler Girls – 2012 Edition

I love this time of year because as I look into the season’s new offerings of holiday dresses, I’m actually also secretly shopping for my Tiny Dancer. This year was difficult as there were so many cute dresses to choose from. You can go for traditional colors like red or white, you can get your little ladies their very first little black dresses or you can get festive and go for something metallic. Whatever you (or your little ladies) choose, I’m sure they will look adorable. Oh, and I did find my Tiny Dancer a dress – I went with the red Polo dress pictured below.

Halloween 2012 With The Tiny Dancer

Halloween 2012 With The Tiny Dancer

minnie mouse costume

The Tiny Dancer had three days of Halloween fun last week.  It started on Monday when her dancing school had a small Halloween party at the end of dance class.  The kids were welcome to dress up and in the class photo, all the other kids posed for the camera and the Tiny Dancer was jumping around like crazy. I guess that’s what happens when you only eat the icing off of a cupcake (I wonder where she got that from? Let’s just say the apple does not fall far from the tree).

The following day the Tiny Dancer’s Montessori school hosted a small pumpkin patch and the Tiny Dancer got to choose and decorate her own pumpkin with her classmates.  She loved it!

On Halloween, the Tiny Dancer’s school had a Halloween parade and she cried the whole time :(

Luckily, by the time she got home and it was time to go trick or treating she was in better spirits.  It was her first time trick or treating and we went to the local mall because there was a chance of rain. Many of the stores at the mall had treats for the kids and the mall hosted a party complete with a band which the Tiny Dancer loved.  All in all it was a great Halloween and I can’t wait to see what she’ll want to dress up as next year.  Maybe we’ll do a whole family costume.

Oh, and before I leave you here are the details of the Tiny Dancer’s costume:

Ears: Minnie Ears and Bow headband by Disney
Dress: My Nonna hand-made the dress (Thank you Nonna!)
Tights: Circo
Shoes: Circo

My grandmother made the Minnie Mouse dress this summer as a dress-up play dress but I thought it was too nice for play and figured since the Tiny Dancer loves Minnie she could use it for Halloween. I’ve saved everything my Nonna has made for me and I’m so happy that the Tiny Dancer has something made by Nonna with love.

Gone Trick or Treatin’

trick or treat

Oh the Halloween festivities! This is the Tiny Dancer’s first year in Montessori school and dancing school and the Halloween activities started yesterday with a party in dance class. Today the Tiny Dancer picked yet another pumpkin at her Montessori school’s pumpkin patch and tomorrow is the big day complete with a Halloween parade at school. On top of all that it will be the first year we’re taking the Tiny Dancer trick or treatin’. With all of this going on I need to follow her with my camera so I’ll be back on Thursday with photos :) Enjoy the holiday with your little ones!

BOO!
