Crochet All Day: Cute Crochet Clothing for Spring

Spring is officially here so it will be summer before we know it.  The 70s are a huge trend for summer and one way that’s trickled down to children’s clothing for spring and summer is crochet.  From knit sweaters and caps to crochet details on tops, jumpers and dresses, you can crochet a lil’ bit or all the way.  It’s lightweight and breathable – perfect for keeping cool in the warm spring and hot summer months.  Here are some of my favorite crochet pieces for tiny dancers…

Stella McCartney Kids Spring Summer 2011

stella mccartney kids spring summer 2011

Stella McCartney’s adorable kids spring summer 2011 collection is out now. The collection includes pieces for babies and little boys and girls. I focused on the girls stuff and there are some standout pieces. I love the dresses with ruching, the cotton embroidered tops and the fun jackets. Everything is really cute but is still pretty pricey. The stuff does end up going on sale at the end of the season, so you can always wait. But, in the mean time, if you see something you just need for the tiny ones, you can purchase online on the Stella McCartney Kids web store.

alice + olivia by Stacey Bendet Kids Spring/Summer 2011 Lookbook

I just received the alice + olivia kids spring/summer 2011 lookbook and I love everything! The clothing is so adorable – but not in just made for kids way. These are clothes that I want to wear as well – but work perfectly for tiny dancers. Sure, kids can get away with wearing some pretty silly (yet cute) stuff – and once in a while is great. But I tend to favor kid’s clothing that is functional and stylish and doesn’t scream “just for kids!!”

My favorites are the black and white striped dress and leopard romper. The styling of the lookbook is great as well.  The Princess Leah side buns and military boots are a nice touch and give the clothing a playful look.  The new spring styles will be in stores soon and online in the alice + olivia online shop.
